Jo Assael

Jo Assael works across the superyacht sector, bringing together information, experience and industry perspective to guide understanding of how the market is evolving.

As the Yachts Commercial Director at the Republic of the Marshall Islands Registry, Jo is closely involved in the operational and regulatory framework that supports the global fleet. This perspective, combined with his wider engagement across the industry, allows him to connect developments from different parts of the superyacht ecosystem.

Alongside this role, Jo is a Non-Executive Director of Phronesis, a company focused on superyacht intelligence and insights, supporting industry stakeholders in interpreting fleet behaviour, market trends and strategic developments.

Through his ambassador role Jo enjoys connecting with members and non-members alike, sharing perspectives and guiding conversations that help people navigate the superyacht sector, whether related to fleet trends, operational considerations or the wider industry landscape.
