Regulatory Affairs
As the representative for the Red Ensign Group (REG) I am able to provide introductions to key personnel across the 13 British Shipping Registries, advise of what work is being done in those committees most relevant to yachting (such as the Yacht Code, Alternative Design and Seafarer Standards groups), and bring concerns and new ideas to the fore.
The REG members are the United Kingdom, the Crown Dependencies (Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey) and the UK Overseas Territories (Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, St Helena and the Turks & Caicos Islands).
The REG strategy is to ensure the successful development of the British fleet, in terms of quality and controlled growth, through a collaborative working relationship, using the strengths of the partnership to our advantage. The diversity of REG members and the fleet provides a great opportunity for collaboration with British Superyacht members and I look forward to supporting the members in their endeavours.
