British Superyacht members have been invited to explore Innovate UK's Global Business Innovation Programme (GBIP) following a successful meeting with their programme lead, Sarah Hildersley at the British Superyacht Soiree in Plymouth on 5 June 2025.
Innovation and new technology has become a prerequisite of superyacht design and build and businesses that have an interest in advancing have an opportunity with Innovate UK to explore and apply for support programmes.
Innovate UK is inviting ambitious companies to participate in the Global Business Innovation Programme (GBIP) focused on maritime technologies with South Korea.

This GBIP aims to help UK businesses grow and scale on a global stage through building R&D and innovation collaborations and partnerships.
The programme consists of a Get Ready phase followed by a market visit to South Korea, including a 5-day tailored programme to connect with key stakeholders and leading maritime technology companies.

The programme will provide a unique opportunity to find partners and identify opportunities for technology collaboration. Delegates will benefit from a follow-up Exploit the opportunity workshop and bespoke support from an innovation and growth specialist to leverage the contacts, opportunities and knowledge gained.

Innovate UK will fund and organise flights, accommodation, in-market travel, and conference fees for successful applicants, who will have access to business opportunities, support, and international connections through the programme.
