The atmosphere at the ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove for the 2026 Singapore Yachting Festival has been nothing short of electric. As industry leaders gather from around the world, the focus extends far beyond the spectacular vessels lining the docks to the very future and resilience of our sector. In an increasingly challenging global economy, the path forward requires adaptability, vision, and above all, unity.

Yesterday, Thursday, April 23rd, marked a pivotal moment for British Superyacht and our international partners. Our CEO, Richard Selby, met with two highly influential figures in the Asian superyacht market: Simone Centola of the Singapore Superyacht Cluster, and Suzy Rayment representing the Asia Pacific Superyacht Association (APSA).
The primary objective of this discussion was quite clear : widening the collaboration between globally renowned superyacht business membership organisations. As our sector navigates a tightening economic landscape, diversification is a critical necessity for survival and growth. By forging stronger, actionable ties between the UK and the thriving Asia-Pacific markets, we aim to unlock new avenues for commercial development, share vital market intelligence, and create robust, cross-continental support networks.
At British Superyacht, our core objective has always been bringing together the globally renowned quality and excellence of the superyacht industry around the British Isles. However, true leadership requires recognising that our domestic strength is magnified when we look beyond our own shores. Our strap line, 'Stronger Together in Leading the Industry,' was the guiding principle of yesterday’s talks in Singapore.
Both the Singapore Superyacht Cluster and APSA represent regions of immense potential, dynamic energy, and rapidly growing infrastructure. By aligning with these prestigious organisations, we are ensuring that British marine excellence is seamlessly connected with the APAC region's expanding client base and evolving operational needs. Together, we can encourage diversification in supply chains, client acquisition, and service offerings, insulating our members against regional economic fluctuations.

What does this historic meeting mean for you, our members? It translates directly to broader horizons. Whether you are featured in our member directory as a bespoke luxury manufacturer, a cutting-edge refit specialist, or a world-class maritime service provider, these international alliances are being engineered to facilitate your cross-border opportunities. It means streamlined access to emerging markets, shared promotional platforms across continents, and a unified, powerful voice advocating for the superyacht sector on a truly global scale.
As the Singapore Yachting Festival continues through the weekend, the collaborative groundwork laid by Richard, Simone, and Suzy will undoubtedly spark further joint initiatives. We are incredibly excited to build upon these relationships and share the resulting opportunities with you.
