We are officially welcoming two titans of the maritime world as our newest Ambassadors: Phil Noad and Jason Robertson.

Phil Noad: Ambassador for Regulatory Affairs

Navigating the complex waters of international maritime law requires a steady hand and deep institutional knowledge. We are honoured to appoint Phil Noad as the British Superyacht Ambassador for Regulatory Affairs.

Phil joins us from the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry, a prestigious member of the Red Ensign Group. His background is steeped in the highest standards of British flag state administration. In an era where ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria, safety soul-searching, and evolving international codes are reshaping how yachts are built and operated, Phil’s insight is invaluable.

As Ambassador, Phil will bridge the gap between policy and practice. He will provide our members with vital updates on regulatory shifts, helping the British fleet maintain its reputation for safety and integrity. His presence ensures that "British Excellence" remains synonymous with being at the forefront of global maritime compliance.

Jason Robertson: Ambassador for Technical Affairs

While regulations provide the framework, technology provides the future. To lead our efforts in this sector, we have appointed Jason Robertson of MIMO CONNECT as the British Superyacht Ambassador for Technical Affairs.

In the modern superyacht market, a vessel is only as good as its technical infrastructure. Jason is a pioneer in high-end maritime communication and integrated systems. From Starlink integrations to cyber security and seamless onboard connectivity, Jason understands the technical heartbeat of a superyacht.

As the Ambassador for Technical Affairs, Jason will champion innovation within our network. He will highlight the cutting-edge British engineering and digital solutions that keep the industry moving forward. His role is essential for members looking to stay ahead of the curve in an increasingly digital and automated maritime landscape.

Jo Assael: Ambassador for Superyacht Intelligence and Insights

British Superyacht Ambassador Jo Assael retains his post but now holds the portfolio for 'Superyacht Intelligence and Insights. Jo Assael works across the superyacht sector, bringing together information, experience and industry perspective to guide understanding of how the market is evolving.

As the Yachts Commercial Director at the Republic of the Marshall Islands Registry, Jo is closely involved in the operational and regulatory framework that supports the global fleet. This perspective, combined with his wider engagement across the industry, allows him to connect developments from different parts of the superyacht ecosystem.

Alongside this role, Jo is a Non-Executive Director of Phronesis, a company focused on superyacht intelligence and insights,

supporting industry stakeholders in interpreting fleet behaviour, market trends and strategic developments.

Through his ambassador role Jo enjoys connecting with members and non-members alike, sharing perspectives and guiding conversations that help people navigate the superyacht sector, whether related to fleet trends, operational considerations or the wider industry landscape.
